“I thought digital is just one of convenient tools around us. For example, everybody can easily contact with each other whenever they want, although they do not live in the same place or in the same country. Actually, in this point of view, digital is MY convenient tool since I am an international student here in England. Thanks to digital, I can send e-mails or call to anybody in Korea. In addition, as an illustration student’s point of view, digital still helps me in ways of saving my drawings in my computer or into my USB. I can then manage, search and show my works to my audience without any difficulty. For these reasons, I thought digital is convenient.” This is what I said at the two minutes presentation in the first week of this course. Up until now, ten weeks later from the beginning of this course, my fundamental thought about digital, that digital is a convenient tool, has not changed at all. In fact, I could now realize more than ever that I am really living in the age of digital throughout this course.
Especially, what I liked the most about this course were visiting a few different exhibitions and an excursion to Central St. Martin’s College. Those were fascinating experiences to make me strongly feel the power and development of digital as well as gave me some inspirations and enabled me to widen my horizons for choosing a variety of diverse ways of expressions. For example, “Frequency and Volume”, which was in barbican centre, displayed that the outline of a projected shadow tunes in the radio and the size of a projected shadow controls the volume. I was interested in shadow’s outline and red lines, which show radio’s frequency. While I was seeing the exhibition, I was thinking that those things look good and I wanted to draw some illustration, which is about the relation between digital and human. Actually, I didn’t think about digital stuff seriously before I went there. After the exhibition, we went to ICA theatre to see “Last Noon Sun”. The film was much more interesting than Frequency and Volume. There were 4 screens and each screen was connected. So, it looked like one big scene although there were 4 different screens. It was a really good experience to see that film. Lastly, visiting CSM was literally amazing. Frankly, I haven’t seen or even heard about a facility which can make 3D-works out of a computer-based drawing. After seeing that, I now hope to make 3D-characters with my character illustration by using that machine.
I truly learned many things about digital throughout this elective course. Even though I have heard more than thousands of times about the word “digital”, I failed to notice that digital has indeed affected my everyday life and that it is certainly much bigger than I originally thought it is. I learned that I have simply overlooked the huge influence of digital on me and this course enlightened my ignorance on digital. I was once again surprised by the gigantic development of digital and the fact that it is developing a lot faster that I think it is, so I have been failing to catch up the speed of the development of digital. Furthermore, I found the influence of digital on art field and imagined that we might not be able to talk about art without digital in the future.

First part of the essay has lots of statistics about media use, can you add any personal experiences to support or contradict these facts?
There is cyword, which is like facebook, in Korea.
Many people use cyword and they update their pictures, video or diaries on cyword. Also, If people update their schedule on cyword, people, who related to each other, they can know each other thier schedules immediately. And we can know how many people visit our cyword in a day. So when I visited some celebrity’s cyword or someone who updates some big issues , the average of the visitors is over 30000 in a day.
Loging in cyword is all in the day's work.
